The first customer car delivered by Clive Sutton arrives finished in black, its purposeful stance heightened by twin red racing stripes that accentuate the dramatic lines of the mid-engined C8 platform. Subtle yet aggressive, the specification is completed by red brake calipers and a red-detailed interior, creating a visual identity that mirrors the ZR1’s raw performance credentials. It is a car that looks every bit as serious as the engineering beneath its skin.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 producing an extraordinary 1,064 bhp, making the ZR1 the most powerful production Corvette in history. This output translates into devastating real-world performance, with a 0–60 mph time of just 2.3 seconds and a top speed of 233 mph. More importantly, the ZR1 has proven its capability on the world stage, recording a 6 minute 50.76 second lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This achievement places it among an elite group of production cars capable of mastering one of motorsport’s most demanding circuits.
Despite its extreme output, the ZR1 remains engineered for balance and control. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers rapid and precise gear changes, while the mid-engine layout ensures optimal weight distribution. Advanced aerodynamics and adaptive suspension systems work in harmony to provide stability at high speed and confidence in demanding driving conditions, whether on road or track.
In order to secure one of the earliest production slots, the first UK customer elected to prioritise delivery timing over the factory-fitted carbon fibre aero package. As a result, the car arrived without the distinctive high rear wing, which the Sutton team will now supply and install as an aftermarket upgrade. This flexibility highlights Clive Sutton’s ability to tailor each vehicle to a customer’s individual requirements, even at the very highest level of exclusivity.
The interior of the Corvette ZR1 reinforces its dual-purpose nature. The cockpit is unapologetically driver-focused, with digital displays that can be configured to suit both road and track driving.
