Design by Dante exclusively at Clive Sutton

With his passion for all things automotive, Clive Sutton has become the sole agent in the United Kingdom for the stunning series of automobile sculptures by the award-winning Swiss artist, Dante.

Art is manifest in many forms, and this is perfectly demonstrated by the evolution of the modern sports cars. Naturally, certain models incorporate greater levels of artistic merit and obtain iconic status: among this elite group of vehicles is the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. The classic lines of the body and the understated beauty of the original form has attracted numerous artists, including Pablo Picasso, to own one of these extraordinary vehicles. The same attraction was a source of inspiration to Dante.

The latest addition to his series of sculptures is a quarter scale,1:4, interpretation of the vehicle, which is finished in galvanised gold to 50g, and mounted on a luxurious piano black display plinth, complete with LED light system. As with each of the sculptures Dante creates, the 1:4 is a limited edition work of art, with a maximum of ten being produce worldwide, thereby ensuring the inherent value to both classic car enthusiasts and art collectors alike.

The exclusive agency was announced during an official launch in London between the 2nd - 6th June 2009, which was attended by a host of specially invited guests and members of the British media. The artist was also present and displayed the half scale, 1:2, sculpture of the 300 SL Gullwing, which had been critically acclaimed by H.S.H., Prince Albert II of Monaco at the world premiere.

The half scale, 1:2, sculpture of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing was finished in sumptuous white gold leaf, complete with an attractive and robust display plinth incorporating a full remote control light system to alter the ambience. A maximum of five 1:2 scale sculptures of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing will be produced worldwide. (A full scale, 1:1, sculpture is also available by invitation.)
