Eleanor Ford Mustang - Star of Gone in 60 Seconds with a modern twist

October 08, 2008

Film fans can get their hands on probably the most iconic movie car of the past decade, thanks to Sutton Bespoke's replicated Eleanor Mustang.

It's the star of the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds and takes part in the climactic finish to the film as Nicolas Cage uses it to leap over traffic and leave the police standing. The film's success helped hike up interest in the sixties Mustang, which has been something of a revival alongside its modern iteration.

Buyers of an 'Eleanor' won't have to put up with an archaic driving experience, though with a brand new body shell, modernised suspension and a big boost to the performance. Buyers have two options - a fuel injected 528 bhp model capable of 170+mph, or a supercharged 740bhp version which has rear suspension tweaked to handle all the extra poke. No word on top speed, but it should be enough to see if anyone in an OTT car chase.

The car is available in the recognisable Eleanor colour scheme of grey with black stripes, with red and white, black and silver and yellow and black versions available if you want to be different. Sutton Bespoke also makes a highland green Bullitt and Eleanor range from £97-165k.
